Drawings > After the Rain Series
After the Rain Series begins in our new apartment in Vancouver, B.C. in 2026 in a small bedroom which has been converted into a little working studio. Once again riffing on an image that resonates, I work through variables in different mediums.
I took a photograph on New Year's Day, 2026 at English Bay Beach while spectactors waited for the Polar Bear Plunge; a young woman sat on a rock looking down at the beach, her dog beside her seemingly posing for me and making an emotional connection. The dog was wearing what appeared to be a collar of painted wooden beads. It might have been custom made. I found the vignette very peaceful and comforting.
